Prairie girl and artist Delores Orridge Naskrent was born in Treherne, Manitoba and has lived most of her life in Brandon. After graduation with graphic design certification, she moved to Winnipeg to pursue a career in the graphic arts trade. Ten years of working in various aspects of the profession eventually lead to the opportunity for a teaching job in Brandon, Manitoba. As well as teaching and working as a graphic designer in the community, she began to experiment with ideas for retail products. Retail exposure was one of the best things that could have happened! She is now a contract artist working for RUSS BERRIE International, the gift industry giant, who produce and distribute Delores' art nationwide and in the US and the United Kingdom (supplying stores such as Hallmark)! Delores continues to sell her exclusive line not available in retail stores , available only in the deloresart retail sales line available at the on-line store (click here to enter) and at retail sales across western Canada (click here to find a show in your area).

Her art has continued to develop and has a unique flair. Her business now employs herself and her daughter, Ché, a business major, as well as a number of casual workers, including all of the other members of the family! Ché is in charge of the business and production components of the business, leaving Delores free to focus on the creative and administrative duties. They have a studio, production facility and warehouse, and a woodworking shop on their beautiful property in the country.

When asked what her inspiration is, Delores Orridge will tell you that she has often been moved by quotations:
“People can get such a lift from reading the quotes. I love to collect them. We have people who spend a long time reading all of them. It’s amazing and rewarding to watch. That keeps me going -- knowing I can touch people in that way.”
